Seminar: Concepts of Security and Authenticity

The seminar will be held in English and is offered in cooperation with Fraunhofer AISEC.
Capacity:  7 students.
Audience: Interested Bachelor's and Master's students

Description

This seminar deals with various aspects of security, authenticity and trust in digital systems.

The format represents an academic conference, including paper writing, submission, review, rebuttal, revision, presentation, and discussion.

Possible topics are, e.g.: Authentication Recovery – What is your mother's maiden name?; FrankenCert revived - Comparison of Certificate Parser Testing; Attacks and Mitigations on centralized network architectures; Early Works of Cryptographic Pairings and their Application; eBPF and Security: State of the Art; Authentication Usability: A methodological review; Security of High Availability.
The final list of topics will be presented in the Pre-course Meeting.

Course Objectives

* Know and understand different aspects of security and authenticity

* Prepare, write, and review a scientific paper in LaTeX (English; IEEE Conference Proceedings Template; 10 pages excl. list of references and appendix)

* Present and discuss the topic (English; 25 minutes presentation + 15 minutes discussion)
