Description
This thesis describes the necessary steps to set up different testing tools and analyze them in order to be able
in future to support certification of the Trusted Connector through automated testing. Trusted Connector is software
aimed for use by International Data Spaces Organization for secure exchange of information and currently developed
by Fraunhofer Institute for Applied and Integrated Security(AISEC). At the beginning, the TLS protocol is introduced
and possible security concerns regarding the communication are presented. Furthermore, is is discussed which criteria
make a testing tool suitable for usage in the certification process of the Connector. Different testing tools are presented
and subsequently evaluated in regard to the chosen criteria. At the end, the results are summed up and the most suitable
tool or more tools are chosen. Key Words: Transport Layer Security(TLS), Automated Testing, International Data Spaces
Association, Trusted Connector, TLS testing tools.
